What software will I need to use this course?

You will need Excel or Google Sheet to use the excel sheets provided. You will need StrategyQuant X PRO version or higher to be able to follow along. Once you are ready to trade your developed strategies you need a broker that support MT4, Tradestation, or Multicharts, as strategies can be exported in those platforms native code. SQX also export in plain English (pseudo code), so you can take the strategy plain code and program it in other language or platform like Python, Excel, etc.

Is Tradestation, Multicharts, MT4 training included?

As a trader you need to learn your broker/trading platform inside/out as with all technologies, glitches will happen from time to time and you need to be able to solve it, as you are trading your own capital. Fortunately, there are countless free resources on YouTube/Web, and each platform offer their own free/paid training videos.

Can I import my own data/indicator into StrategyQuant X?

You can import your instrument data one stream at a time. You can build strategies on this data directly or use it as a second chart. You can import your indicator output data and use it for development. If your indicator is an equation then it needs to be programmed in java in SQX.

Can I develop in Python or different language and import into SQX or vice versa?

ou can export SQX plain English code and program it in other languages. You will need to program your strategy from outside using Algo Wizard to get it inside SQX. Keep in mind not all strategies can be imported if they are using complex calculations or special indicators.

Will you use SQX Builder or Algo Wizard to develop?

I will be building templates in Algo Wizard to be used in Builder. Those templates can be used in Custom Projects for automation.
Regardless of how you build your strategies, you will learn how to vet them using robustness testing.

Does StrategyQuant X export the strategy code?

In order to trade the strategies you need to take the code to another platform. Currently SQX support code export to TradeStation, MultiCharts, MetaTrader 4, and Pseudo Code (Plain English), so you can build the strategy in any platform.

How can I sign up for Tradestation?

If you are in USA then it's free to sign up for the platform and data. If you are an international citizen then it's free to sign up for the platform and data directly with USA branch. If you are in Europe then you have to use their European branch for a fee. Currently at a $100 per month. If you are a Canadian resident you can't sign up. Some international countries residents can't sign up. Check their website, or call them to make sure of their latest policies.
